Circle confirms and strengthens its presence in the MED area with a new cooperation with U.N.Ro-Ro., main Turkish operator which has lately become part of DFDS Group, and Samer Seaports & Terminals.
This partnership is focused on the development of a project proposal about the International Trade Lanes simplifications and Customs / Security procedure evolution using also Internet of Things technologies.
The general objective of the initiative is to enable wider use of digital technologies to contribute to: (i) removing barriers to the smooth functioning of the single market; (ii) the modernization of the economy; and (iii) the greater efficiency of the transport sector.
The international pilot is intended to provide a harmonized and interoperable digital solution in the MED area, developing a Fast Procedure project between Italy and Turkey to start with the connection between ports of Trieste (in particular, Samer Seaports terminal, which is also controlled by U.N.Ro-Ro.), Mersin and Pendik.
The project is also inserted inside an EU proposal that will last a little more than 3 years and provides for a total cost of over EUR 7 million, with a possible funding of over EUR 3.5 million.
With this new cooperation with U.N.Ro-Ro., Circle continues its growth abroad as laid out in its 2022 development plan.
