Circle SpA, (“Circle”), a company headed by the homonymous Group specialized in the analysis of processes and in the development of automation solutions and for the digitalization of the port sectors and intermodal logistics, listed on the AIM Italia market, organized and managed from Borsa Italiana, communicates its participation in the new edition of Digital Transport Days, scheduled in Helsinki between October 7-9 2019.
The event, organized by the European Commission and the Finnish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, will take place at the Finlandia Hall in Helsinki. The event will also be attended by Violeta Bulc, the outgoing European Commissioner for Transports, to analyze the state of the art of European transport framework and to trace the future of the EU on this matter. The new edition of the Digital Transport Days will be attended by all the main Institutional players at European level in the field of transports, together with the most important international players in the sector.
During the Digital Transport Days, on Wednesday October 9th, will be presented the Horizon2020 DocksTheFuture project, coordinated by Alexio Picco, Director of the Connecting EU Business Unit. The presentation is included in the “Towards optimizing port ecosystems” panel. The world of logistics, transport and the Supply Chain today faces numerous challenges due to technological implementation. From Artificial Intelligence to Big Data Management, passing through Blockchain, 5G and the Internet of Things. Circle, thanks to its proven international experience in European projects and the constant development of technological innovation in support of the Supply Chain, will bring to the event the most advanced integrated solutions for the future of the sector.
DocksTheFuture, selected into the Horizon2020 Program, is a project which includes the sectors of infrastructure, transport and sustainable development. The project, funded for 1.2 million euros, and led by Circle, includes several academic partners and consulting companies in Italy, Germany, Portugal, Belgium, and is linked to associations that operate globally. The goal of DocksTheFuture is to identify the concept of “Port of the Future”, concentrating its research on the creation of new port management models, innovative design and development solutions in the infrastructural and technological fields.
